The Tourist

I have called this post ‘The Tourist’ but I could equally have called it ‘How Mum Dressed in the 90’s’ (but that didn’t have quite the same ring to it). `So here we are again! Im sorry for our longer-than-intended hiatus from Graham St. December and January became so busy with Christmas (and the general craziness of having a baby and a 3 year old at that time of year) that blog posts took a back seat. Anyway, we’re back and we have lots of new outfit posts and fun collaborations to share with you over the next few weeks.

First up, we present to you - the perfect chino! (In my opinion). The pleated front of the trousers provides room around the bum and tum and the high waist naturally creates a flattering silhouette. This particular shade of khaki is very easy to wear with all colours and perfect as the weather starts to warm up. They are 100% cotton and good quality.

Mum and I are both wearing these chinos as I thought that it would be fun to show two different ways of wearing the same piece. We’re almost wearing the same outfit but mum has on a fitted cardigan and I am wearing an over-sized shirt. The difference between our two outfits has nothing to do with our ages, and everything to do with our own personal style.

The fitted polo neck with a tucked-in cardigan or shirt is a big look at the moment (but make sure that your trousers are high waisted if you’re going for it). This particular top is actually what you would call a turtle neck but turtle neck/polo neck, it’s whatever floats your boat. If you like this look then it’s worth stocking up on some. M&S always do a good fitted polo neck at a reasonable price.

Mum and I are both wearing the same Nike trainers. A lady once said to me, ‘I was wondering whether I was too old to wear fashion trainers’ - never! As I’ve mentioned before, shoes are such a great way of keeping a look contemporary. Trainers have the added bonus of being SO comfy too….who said that fashion had to be painful?
