PLUMO X GRAHAM ST

PLUMO X GRAHAM ST

Last week, we spent the day in Clerkenwell - a place close to my heart. I spent most of my maternity leave with my first daughter stomping the streets of Exmouth Market and the surrounding area, trying to get her to sleep (not easy) and at other times, trying to stop her from sleeping (equally difficult). It is also where my husband grew up. His first job was in the kitchen of Moro restaurant, an institution in those parts. In fact, I benefitted from his endeavours recently in the shape and form of a chocolate and apricot tart - after all these years, who knew! If you like cooking, the Moro cookbooks are very good (one for the Christmas list). But enough of that - on to the clothes!

We have collaborated with Plumo again to showcase some of our favourite pieces from their new A/W collection. I mentioned last time that they have created an in house label called Plumo Studio and interestingly most of the clothes that we chose are from their own label. The collection is responsibly made in small production runs in their East London factory.

Specific notes about the individual pieces that mum and I are wearing. My jumper is a size 2 which is a size bigger than I would usually go for, I wanted a roomy, oversized look. It’s not itchy! The white trousers come up quite short, I am 5.6”. As we all know by now, I love a cropped trouser but you might find them a bit too short if you’re much taller than me.

The shape of the waistcoat is perfection. Boxy but not unflattering and big enough to wear a thick jumper underneath. It is made from 100% virgin wool so it’s warm. It would look great over a shirt and perfect under a coat for an extra layer - so chic.

I adore these brown suede boots. They were comfy from the moment that I put them on, which is very unusual for me. Plumo’s waxed jackets are amazing!! They are an investment piece but worth it in my opinion. The team at Plumo have managed to make a very practical coat look glamorous. You could easily fit a padded coat under it in Winter. Its waterproof credentials were put to the test as we got caught in a torrential downpour and it passed with flying colours!

The yellow jumper. THAT COLOUR. If ever you needed something to brighten up your day - or start the day right - this yellow jumper would be it, no?! Sunshine yellow. Particularly perfect to lift a darker outfit. Yummy worn with corduroy trousers too.

Both mum and I agreed that her leather bag is actually all that you need to go out with - room for a phone, bank card and house keys. As someone who has a bit of a dodgy back (I’ve just started pilates, gulp), this would be all that I would carry with me anyway. It has the added bonus of looking cool too.

Mum’s dress is a ‘throw on and go’ piece. It is extremely comfortable - made from a soft, textured, jersey fabric. We were both really comfortable all day. In fact, I would be so bold as to say that it would make a very good Christmas Day dress - roomy and chic. Hurrah! Extra roast potatoes over here please!

P.S. Red socks. OF COURSE.
