Cut the Mustard

Cut the Mustard

Winter white. It’s a daring option if you’re intending to leave the house…well, ever…if you’re willing to take the risk then it’s a very chic one too. I think that white is particularly chic and striking worn with beige, tan and mustard. Arket call this a shirt but I would say it’s more of a jacket. Made from 65% wool and double faced, it’s going to offer quite a bit of warmth. It also looks cool - the perfect way to elevate a jumper and jeans.

The jeans are from the Sienna Miller X M&S collection. Sadly they have now sold out but I have suggested a similar pair at the bottom of this post. While we’re on the subject, I would really recommend popping into a big M&S sometime. I was in the Oxford street store last week, and I have to say there were some gems in there. I was so impressed with the coats in particular. I’m excited to see how the collections progress over the coming months. In the new year I will showcase some of the pieces that have caught my eye.

We have tied the look together with this necksarf by Roake. Compared to similar products on the market, it is a good price. They have a really lovely selection of fabrics which could be used to tie in most colour combinations - adding a little flare to an otherwise simple ensemble.

I have realised that my style muse is a male, retired university lecturer…hahaha…I have nailed it here! I absolutely love this knitted fairisle vest. I love the colours and the shape is so cool - the perfect knit under a jacket.

The sleepless cardigan is by Luna & Curious, a gorgeous, happy clothing boutique in Shoreditch, London. If you’re looking for a dopamine hit, go and visit their store sometime. Full of wonderful pieces, in fun, vibrant colours that you might not have seen anywhere else. They have a really friendly team so you’re guaranteed to enjoy your visit.

N.B. when you’re layering lots of earthy tones it’s often good to lift the outfit with a lighter colour like cream or pale blue. Light blue is a surprisingly ‘neutral’ colour that provides a great basis for other, stronger hues.
