BAM X GRAHAM ST

So this week we have paired up with activewear brand BAM to bring to you our edit of their fitness wear. I’ve actually been asked a surprisingly large amount of times what we would wear to the gym. I’ve got to be completely honest with you, neither of us are exactly gym bunnies! However, we are active and what we have actually learnt from wearing these clothes is that they are blummin’ comfortable and that you could wear them with absolutely no intention of going to the gym whatsoever! Ha! But I digress….
BAM has successfully managed to create a collection of activewear that looks and feels stylish. Rather than super garish colours, the hues are muted and subtle. The items are cleverly buildable. You can have your leggings and sports vest on for working out, under your stylish knitwear and fleece jacket for your post workout coffee.
Much of BAM’s activewear is made from Bamboo. I didn't realise this but Bamboo absorbs five times more carbon than hardwood trees and because it stores carbon in the plant and roots it is able to regenerate soil health. It’s one of the best crops you can use if you want to protect the planet. Bamboo is a lower impact crop than cotton or hardwood tress because it needs little to no irrigation or pesticides and it releases 35% more oxygen. It grows rapidly so it needs less land and it can be harvested without damaging root systems and surrounding habitats!
Bamboo jersey fabric also has a fibre structure which absorbs moisture really effectively, which of course helps when you're getting in your reps! The fleeces are made from 100% recyclable polyester and the knitwear is made from organic cotton and recycled wool. BAM’s ultimate goal is to have a net positive impact, on people, nature and the climate by 2030. This is a very admirable and impressive goal.
What really excites me is when impressive credentials meets style. The cream palazzo pants that mum is wearing have a fluidity to them which looks incredibly elegant. They are super high waisted adding to the elegance. The dark cotton trousers that mum is also wearing taper through the leg giving the impression of a trouser, rather than a tracksuit bottom.
The long sleeved base layers that we are both wearing are super long in the body and in the sleeve making them a flattering and practical first layer. We love the rib of mum’s cream jumper but more importantly it’s long enough to cover her bum! The cuffs and waistband are tight so that the body of the jumper -and the sleeves -elegantly billow out.
My tracksuit bottoms are more trend led with their horseshoe shape. I have cinched mine in with a pair of slouch socks (you can take the kid out of the 80s…..) but obviously they would look great worn loose.
The fleeces are perfect for wearing after a workout, or for walking the dog, or for running into town. The BAM kit is as comfortable for nailing those sit ups in as it is consuming the celebratory coffee and cake!
-This is PAID COLLABORATION but as always, all choices are our own-
