Pink has been a massive trend for this summer and continues to be for the coming winter. Head to toe pink has infact been seen a lot on the catwalks but it’s a bold choice for the majority of us. However, indulging in a nod to pink is something that I fully recommend.
This sherbet pink jumper is from J Crew and is a perfect shade of pink. It’s almost neon without being blinding. The colour is surprisingly flattering – mum and I both found that we looked less pasty and more, er, perky in it. The fit is great, loose around the tummy but still fitted and therefore good for tucking into skirts and trousers.
This is an outfit that can be dressed up or dressed down according to accessories. Big earrings and bold necklaces are IN right now so don’t be afraid to layer on the jewels. This particular combo is also by J Crew. They do fantastic costume jewellery. Statement jewellery is a fab way to inject life into an old jumper or smarten up an essentially casual look.
This outfit is made by the accessories. The necklace and earrings add interest whilst the belt smartens the look and flatters the figure. Khaki green and sherbet pink are surprising, yet happy, bed fellows.
Jenna Lyons, the former Creative Director of J Crew, said that Leopard print is a neutral. I totally agree. Leopard print goes with almost everything. Leopard print bags, leopard print shoes, leopard print coats, the world is your leopard print oyster. So these French sole pumps are a perfect shoe for this outfit – they add interest without drawing too much attention to your feet.
Add a hat and a pair of heels and this is a perfect outfit for an English country wedding. I think that traditionally a jumper would be considered too casual for a wedding but in this vibrant colour and paired with a skirt and heels, it’s not too casual at all, it just looks cool and incredibly stylish. Comfy too – key, to effortless style.
