Sometimes, simple is best. Sticking to a colour palette of three colours can be very striking. For most of the time, just two colours isn’t enough - the outfit can either look boring or contrived. Throwing in a third hue makes all the difference. For mum’s outfit we have the olive green of the cardigan and coat, paired with the colour palette ‘livener’ which is the cream corduroys. The gold silk scarf serves to prevent the contrast of green and cream from looking too stark.

My white shirt acts as the colour palette cleanser, in contrast to the chocolate brown of my jacket, jumper and wool collar, and the blue of the jeans is the hue to prevent starkness. Simple, but hopefully you will agree, effective.

The jumper that I am wearing around my shoulders is THE softest cashmere jumper that I have ever worn. It is an investment piece but if you have the budget then I cannot recommend it enough. The quality is absolutely beautiful. Do note though, you might want to size up as they come up small.

I love this ribbed collar, also by Rise & Fall. An alternative to the triangle scarves that are popular at the moment (and rightly so). It looks so incredibly chic over a coat, or indeed just over a shirt as I am wearing it here.

Lastly, I'd just like to point out these jeans. I adore how simple they are, no fading, just plain true blue jeans. They are the pair that I was wearing here. Arket call them ‘flared’ but they don’t feel flared to me. I love how high-waisted they are, you feel very held in! A perfect jean to take you into Spring.
