This is just a quick post as we shot these outfits a while ago but I wanted to share them as I think that mum’s outfit would make a wonderful festive ensemble! You could wear it to a lunchtime party, as well as an evening do - perhaps try some bigger earrings or a silk neck scarf too. I also love that you can wear the two-piece separately. The cardigan would work perfectly with navy, black or grey trousers and the skirt could be worn with the same colours in a jumper.

However, before I continue to wax lyrical about these pieces, I ought to flag that there are not many sizes left online. You may of course have some luck in store but if not, COS have brought out this new pairing. One could argue that this slightly more over-sized shaped cardigan would be an easier silhouette to wear and would be more forgiving after a few mince pies! I love the long cardigan with the long skirt - there is something very elegant about long with long (so to speak).

Ballet flats are everywhere at the moment so now is the time to invest. I think that they represent a timeless shoe that is always useful to have in your wardrobe. They’re a perfect style for wearing with opaque tights and a skirt but also look incredibly chic with trousers.

I am wearing the COS coat that mum wore last week. In case any of you were trying to track it down and you live in London, I saw some in the King’s Cross store this week. This may be the case for other stores across the country.
