If you’re keeping up with the trends, then you’ll be aware of a resurgence of the waistcoat. Many are being worn on their own as a top, I love this look but wouldn’t feel completely comfortable in it myself and nor would mum. If there is a style that you love but feel nervous to try, then it’s always worth thinking about how you might reinterpret the look into your own style.

The waistcoat that I am wearing here has been designed to wear as a top but I have put it with a t-shirt underneath to make the look feel more ‘me’. A coloured t-shirt would have worked well too but I love the mixture of neutral, clean tones.

We love a t-shirt dress. They are incredibly practical pieces of clothing, easy to dress up or down depending on the occasion. They’re also easy to pack in a suitcase and are cool - in both senses of the word!

For sightseeing or over a swimsuit by day and with strappy sandals and great jewellery by night - your t-shirt dress will have you covered! We like the cut of the COS ones as they skim rather than cling but you need to find the style that makes you feel most comfortable. This colour is amazing! If you’re more a pear shape, then this style with the slightly fluted skirt could work well for you…

This lightweight jacket (a style that is sometimes referred to in fashion parlance as a ‘shacket’ (but that word is too awful to use in my opinion - ha!) is perfect for cooler summer days. Sorry to our GS friends in southern America and other lovely hot climates, I know that I promised you that as the summer arrived in the UK, our outfits would become lighter and more appropriate for your environment but what can I say, I love a layer! I promise that this jacket is suuuuuuper lightweight though. The side ties are such a lovely detail as is the A-line shape and I also like that the sleeve can be easily rolled for a relaxed look.

I will of course endeavour to de-layer as we hit July…..even we get too hot sometimes!
